Publish to an article directory over time to dominate the rankings

In order to have maximum impact for your website, you need to be ranked on page 1 of Google somewhere. You really need to be on the first page on some keywords to get any decent traffic to your site. Now, it is not possible usually to pick 20 or 30 keywords and get them all in the top 10 rankings and for them to stay there. Its mostly a time sink  and some of the keywords are bound to be more difficult. Lastly, you should always remember that once you get the ranking, it must be maintained – so the more stuff you have the more maintenance that is required to keep that ranking.

An excellent way to build links and maintain them over time is to distribute articles to a article directory or niche blogs to keep new links coming back to your site.  The key is to have this part set on auto pilot so you do not have to remember to do it.  Sure, you will have to write the initial articles, but the posting over time is all taken care of automatically.  One aspect which is often outsourced once a site is ranked is the web content writing for the drip distribution. Although your website contents should all be written by yourself, once you are far enough along with ranking for a few terms it makes sense to outsource some of the work.

Once you have your article distribution model in place on autopilot, you should also think about getting other links as well to diversify the base.  One excellent way is to go to Yahoo answers and search for your niche topic and answer some questions each week with a link to your site.  The real key to making it work is to answer questions in which you really have some good knowledge to share, meaning there is a high degree of chance your answer will be chosen as the top answer.  Of course, in addition to Yahoo answers, there a re many, many other methods to get more links.  Mainly you are looking for a long term solution to not only maintain your rankings, but try to get to number 1 (or at least the top 3).
